One of the top attractions in New York is:

Brooklyn Bridge:

John A. Roebling was the designer of the Brooklyn Bridge. In 1869 the construction started, which was completed in 1883. The bridge is 5.9 miles long and has a pedestrian walkway that is probably over 9.9 miles. It is one of the eminent symbols of New York City with breath taking views. It is the world’s prominent and longest suspension bridge at the time. By crossing the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge links the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The rest of the bridge descends down to ground level and extends rather far inland on both sides of the East River due to the rise of the span above the river and the relatively low-lying shoreline.

The bridge is unique because of its Gothic towers with pair arches, weaving steel cables, and seamless, mild curvature, which draws tourists who prefer to walk or bike across the span. You may come across interesting neighbourhoods on each end: on the Brooklyn side, Lower Manhattan, Tribeca, and Chinatown are all easily approachable, while on the Manhattan side, Dumbo and its former industrial past can be seen on the Brooklyn side.

To stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, choose the Brooklyn Bridge Pedestrian Walkway which begins at the inter-crossing of Tillary Street Boerum Place or approach the pedestrian walkway through the staircase situated in the underpass on Washington street/Cadman Plaza East and Prospect Street.

Everyday more than 100,000 cars drive between the Gothic towers, while stroller and tourists on the upper walkway number in thousands. You will witness stunning views of lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Heights, whether you are on foot or travelling by bike or car.

Explore the fun places around the Brooklyn Bridge:

  1. Pier 1:

Pier 1 offers panoramic views of lower Manhattan. Pier 1 is the ideal place where you can happily stroll around, read a good book or lookout at the harbor. Pier 1 is the biggest of the Park Piers and comprises large lawns, a playground at the northern edge, a waterfront promenade and a series of tree-lined pathways that offer a diverse waterfront encounter. Beside the western edge of the pier you will come across Granite Prospect, striking set of steps made from granite stones salvaged from the Roosevelt Island Bridge reconstruction.

  1. Pier 17:

The larger Pier 17 situated alongside to Piers 15 and 16. The Fulton, Malibu Farm, and The Greens are just a few of the dining choices present inside the pier.

The pier has some stunning places to take in the view regardless of what you wish to eat. You can visit the rooftop for an aerial view of the East River, or you can go to the outside deck on the ground floor.

  1. Brooklyn Bridge Park:

This 1.3-mile long park is an undiscovered treasure that offers astonishing views of Lower Manhattan and the New York Harbour. Some visitors like taking photographs, whereas New Yorkers prefer jogging here or taking a walk at nightfall. You can get involved in any activity of your interest in this park, such as playing basketball or riding a bike. The finest skaters in the area skate in front of you as well. But once there, make sure to drop by Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, one of the great ice cream stores in New York City, and fetch an ice cream cone. You can go for Cecconi’s, if it’s too chilly for you to enjoy an ice cream cone.

  1. Brooklyn Heights:

Take a seat on a bench and have a picnic, people-watch, or just the gaze at the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline. Big historic townhouses surround this complete pedestrian path, which also has a playground on Montague Street.

  1. Timeout Market Rooftop:

Timeout Market is situated right across the street from the Pebble Beach neighbourhood. Mostly you can get a mouthwatering supper at one of the many food stalls throughout the market. The rooftop deck, where you can take in a higher perspective view of the park, river, bridges, and cityscape, is another plus point of this location.

  1. Manhattan Bridge Walk:

A walk through the Manhattan Bridge is certainly another notable bridge walk, even though it can be done from both the Manhattan and Brooklyn side. You may get some of the best panorama views of Brooklyn Bridge Park, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Manhattan skyline from the walkway. Although it is not as famous as its nearby neighbour, I would say the spectacle is worth seeing.

  1.  Dumbo:

Dumbo is one of the city’s most enticing neighbourhoods. Dumbo is an abbreviation for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, in case you were assuming.

Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park is where you’ll originally encounter yourself as you approach the neighbourhood. The view of the Financial District is quite stunning from here.

The renovation of Dumbo is what intrigues people the most. Initially an industrial region, it has grown over the past century into a hip, artistic neighbourhood. For people who admire art, take photographs, or want to take a companion out to a hip restaurant, this is the perfect area.

Among the most prominent eateries, we discover:

  • The Osprey: offers scrumptious American food on the ground floor of the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge.
  • Juliana’s Pizza: order city’s best Margherita.
  • Shake Shack: perfect for delicious sandwich lovers.
  1. Jane’s Carousel:

Jane’s Carousel is an outstanding, traditional carousel that you can ride separately or with other children. Jane and David Walentas meticulously repaired Jane’s Carousel and gifted it to Brooklyn Bridge Park after it was constructed in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company. After years of remodelling, Jane’s Carousel reopened to the public on September 16, 2011. The Carousel is situated in a beautiful glass pavilion under the Brooklyn Bridge and is located in the Empire Fulton Ferry part of Brooklyn Bridge Park in the DUMBO neighbourhood. Rides are available on 48 carved horses and two chariots at Jane’s Carousel, a stylish antique carousel. The Carousel was built in 1922 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company and placed in Youngstown, Ohio’s Idora Park, a flourishing steel town at the time.

  1. Hudson River Park:

The Hudson River Park stretches from Brookfield Place all the way up to 59th Street, there are plenty of high-spots to visit towards the Southern end of the Park. These encompass Pier 26, Little Island, Pier 57 and Chelsea Piers. It is your choice that how far north you would want to go and how much time you would enjoy strolling the waterfront.
